To summarise and to explain how ‘Owner Builder’ works we have briefly concluded the below:

Owner of the property needs to have an Owner-Builder Permit in NSW to proceed.

'Owner Builder' gives the owner/s flexibility, control, supervision of workmanship and involvement in the course of the construction/renovation/fit-out.

It allows us the Project Manager to discuss options including materials etc when options become available. 

We as the Project Manager select, supervise, manage contractors/subcontractors, ensuring that they have the valid experience and license for the works targeted. 

We ensure any materials we use have the correct warranties and making sure the workmanship is of high standards while you have choice of styles/design. It allows you to select any finishes you wish.

We as PM obtain quotes for trades, review, assess and shortlist before accept and proceed, ensuring the contractors to have the correct insurance covers.

The times we need to confirm items on the plans, we will communicate and work with the owner, the architect and the engineer to confirm details of the works. We work in a team most of the times, especially with the owner.

We engage the Engineer, Architect, Certifiers for any inspections.

We collect all Certificates on owners' behalf for OC.
